Safeguarding Children at Junior Sporting Events at Licensed Premises:

As you know, junior sports events such as presentation nights, fund-raisers and tournaments can be a fun, family experience with sport at the centre; but sometimes, particularly when alcohol is around, events don`t run as smoothly or as safely as they should - putting children - and the reputation of your club - at risk.

To help clubs run events where children learn to socialise, enjoy themselves and celebrate sport within a safe environment, the Sheffield Safeguarding Children Board in consultation with Sheffield & Hallam District Football Association, the licensed trade has produced some guidance. The leaflet includes a checklist to help you manage the risks associated with alcohol at your events.
